Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2: The Ultimate Tablet for Audio Lovers

Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 Packs a Massive 9-Unit JBL Speaker System

Lenovo just introduced the Tab Plus Gen 2, a tablet built specifically for people who want loud, high-quality audio without carrying around a separate Bluetooth speaker. Starting at $399.99, it prioritizes media consumption and versatile design over being the thinnest or lightest device on the market.

Huge sound in a tablet shell

The standout feature here is the JBL 9-unit Pro speaker system. Tuned with Dolby Atmos, this setup includes dedicated bass units designed to fill a room with sound rather than the tinny audio you usually get from mobile devices. You can even use the tablet as a standalone Bluetooth speaker for your phone, which is a clever way to make the hardware more useful when you aren’t watching a movie.

A screen built for the sun

To match the audio, Lenovo upgraded the display to a 12.1-inch 2.5K LCD panel. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches 800 nits of brightness in its high brightness mode. This means you can actually see what you are watching if you take the tablet outside or sit near a bright window.

Design that actually makes sense

Lenovo 360-degree rotating kickstand

Instead of forcing you to buy a flimsy case to prop it up, Lenovo built a 360-degree rotating kickstand right into the frame. This lets the tablet stand up in both portrait and landscape modes at almost any angle. It even has a standby mode that turns the device into a digital picture frame when you aren’t actively using it.

Performance and Power

The tablet runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor. While this isn’t a top-tier gaming chip, it should be plenty for streaming and multitasking. The 10,200mAh battery provides up to 15 hours of YouTube streaming, and the 45W fast charging is a welcome addition. However, keep in mind that the 68W wall charger is sold separately.

At 775g, this tablet is definitely on the heavier side, but that is the price you pay for a real speaker system and a built-in stand. For anyone who spends their time watching Netflix in bed or following recipes in the kitchen, this looks like a great value for the money.
