However, the latest leak brings some bitter news for those hoping for a flagship-tier screen on the smallest iPad.

According to a new post by the leaker Lanzuk on the Naver blog, mass production of the OLED panels for the 2026 iPad Mini has officially begun. The source points specifically to Samsung’s “A2 G5.5” production line as the supplier for these next-generation screens.
This marks a significant shift in Apple’s strategy for the Mini. The current generation still relies on LCD technology; an OLED panel would bring deeper blacks and better contrast to the smaller form factor.
The “Hybrid” Factor and Size
The leak suggests the device will feature an 8.4-inch “hybrid” OLED panel.
